After the tragic death of 20-year old Andrew Mueller from Wisconsin Rapids in November of last year, the need for increased access to Epi-Pens for First Responders. Senator Patrick Testin and Representative Scott Krug have spear-headed the solution.

Wisconsin prisoners have struggled to connect with loved ones for weeks and even months as a state contractor fails to keep up with increasing demand for its call and messaging services. The Department of Corrections last year began working with Texas-based ICSolutions, the prison system’s phone provider, to make electronic tablets free for every state prisoner. The state allocated $2.5 million to cover some of the cost.

(Public News Service) – Wisconsin’s investment in preserving its agricultural land is offering some solace to farmers and landowners while helping them save money amid a climate of economic uncertainty. The Farmland Preservation Program provides landowners a $10 per acre credit on their income taxes if they meet agriculture conservation requirements.

MADISON, Wis (CIVIC MEDIA) – More solar power is coming to Dane County. Madison Gas and Electric (MG&E) received approval from the Wisconsin Public Service Commission to build a new 20-megawatt solar array in Fitchburg. The plant will be called the Sunnyside Solar Energy center, and will be able to power 6,000 homes. The plan also calls for a 40-megawatt battery storage system to hold that power overnight. MG&E already has 40 megawatts of solar power in its grid from other arrays in Fitchburg.

MILWAUKEE, Wis (WAUK) – Community leaders and parents gathered Wednesday outside North Division High School, where students were being tested for lead, demanding immediate changes and calling for expanded prevention efforts in response to Milwaukee’s ongoing lead exposure crisis. Milwaukee Public Schools have closed several buildings after seeing elevated lead levels, with seven schools confirmed to have hazards so far.
