A new state witness in the murder trial of a social media socialite is expected to take the stand when the matter resumes at the Thohoyandou High Court in Limpopo on Monday. Livhuwani Madadzhe is accused of murdering his partner, Lindelani Nengovhela, two years ago. Nengovhela was found dead, floating in a water-filled disused pit toilet at the couple’s home in Sidou, Mangondi outside Thohoyandou.

The Thohoyandou High Court in Limpopo has heard that a social media socialite, accused of murdering his partner contacted a funeral parlor to collect the body from the scene before police and the family of the deceased arrived. A retired police officer, Avhatakali Tshifularo was cross-examined by the prosecutor, Nduvheni Mulangaphuma in the murder trial against Livhuwani Madadzhe. Madadzhe is accused of killing his partner and the mother of his two children, Lindelani Nengovhela two years ago.

A convicted rapist who lured his victims through social media will be sentenced at the Thohoyandou High Court sitting at the Waterval Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo. Mukovhe Makhavhu lured the victims to Mutshundudi River and Phiphidi outside Thohoyandou where he raped and robbed them four years ago. The victims include a 13-year-old girl. He was convicted on four counts of rape, sexual assault and robbery earlier this year.

A private funeral service for former Finance Minister Tito Mboweni is under way at the Roman Catholic Church in Haenertsburg outside Tzaneen in Limpopo. The bail application of a 43-year-old police officer who allegedly killed six people for insurance claims has been postponed to 30 October in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court. Sergeant Rachel Kutumela appeared in court with two co-accused. Her daughter Flora Shokane and her sister Anna have been charged with money laundering.
