DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — The burn ban that has been in effect in Darlington County since Feb. 28 has been lifted. The Darlington County Fire District lifted the ban on burning for all unincorporated areas of Darlington County on Friday, according to a news release. "We do still ask the community to continue to avoid burning, if possible. Seasonal weather conditions continue to make outdoor fires problematic," the release said.

James Everette Nesbitt, 48, is charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a minor, second degree; and one count of sexual exploitation of a minor, third degree, according to a news release from South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson. The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigators arrested Nesbitt.

Laurinburg police probe death of homeless man found with injuries

LAURINBURG, N.C. — The Laurinburg Police Department is investigating the death of a man they say was considered homeless. At approximately 9:45 a.m. Thursday, officers responded, along with Scotland County EMS, to a call about someone unresponsive and lying on the ground. The person has now been identified as Enos Clark, 44, of Laurinburg. "Mr. Clark showed signs of undisclosed injuries which initiated a Death Investigation," according to a news release from the Laurinburg Police Department.
