SURFSIDE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Bikers are taking over the Grand Strand to help our heroes in the 14th annual Crudes Veteran Ride. More than 100 bikers are hitting the road to raise money for Home for Our Troops. The nonprofit builds custom houses for post 9/11 veterans. This year, bikers are taking a brand new route that’s about 90 miles shorter. Event organizer Kevin Gumina said bikers requested a shorter route, and he hopes it will draw even more people in for the ride.

KEITHVILLE, La. (KSLA/Gray News) – The mother of a 2-year-old girl who was killed in a murder-suicide that left three others dead is at a loss for why it happened. Kara Hanning, the mom of 2-year-old Adalynn Mae Sadler, said she wouldn’t wish this tragedy on anybody. On May 5, the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office was called out to a home in Keithville, Louisiana, to do a welfare check. When deputies got there, they said Adalynn’s grandfather, 60-year-old Leroy Sadler, refused to communicate with them.

Graduation ceremonies took place on Saturday and among those who turned their tassels was a father and his daughter, who are now members of the class of 2025. Liv Clements and Reggie Johnson got to celebrate their accomplishment together. “It’s going to be a great story to tell,” Johnson said. Johnson worked at the university years ago in various departments to help support his family.

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - Florence County Sheriff TJ Joye confirmed to WMBF News on Sunday morning that one person was killed and six were injured in a shooting overnight in Florence County. Joye said it happened at a nightclub on East Palmetto Street just before 3 a.m.He said a group got into a disturbance with a security guard, went to the parking lot, and got three weapons. The sheriff said someone then reportedly fired a gun and killed a security guard.
