The hometown favorite, competing in the 30–39 age group, used familiar terrain—and a few familiar faces—to pull away in the final miles.

    PARK CITY, Utah — In its first season as a new nonprofit, Nordic Combined USA (NCUSA) flew far and skied fast in 2024. In Junior Nationals in Park City last season 40 athletes competed in Nordic Combined,  the sport that combines cross-county skiing and ski jumping. Park City had 36 youth try Nordic Combined through Youth Sports Alliance’s Get Out And Play programs, and the 2025 World Championships Team included Olympian Stephen Schumann from the Park City Ski & Snowboard Team.
