SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Annie Sanders, 17, of USA Climbing  and her teammate, Olympian Colin Duffy earned third and fourth place respectively over the weekend in the Climbing World Cup hosted in Salt Lake City. “Shout out to the SLC crowd,” Duffy wrote on social media about the sold out spectators. “For sure one of the best atmospheres I’ve ever gotten to climb in.” The able-bodied competition was in the sport discipline of bouldering and there was a Para Climbing World Cup for lead climbing.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — The Park City High School Miners girls lacrosse team won the Utah 5A state championship game defeating Olympus 16 – 6 at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman on Thursday, claiming their third state title in five years. “A huge congrats on an incredible run and a well-deserved title.” The Utah High School Athletics Association wrote on social media.

BARCELONA, Spain — With a home 5-0 victory on May 17 over Aggies FC, Park City Soccer Club‘s (PCSC) Girls, 15 year olds, Red team clinched the Utah Youth Soccer Association’s Premier 2 title, earning a promotion to Premier 1 Division for next year. Coached by Anthony DiCicco, this team has had an incredible run since their Club season began at the conclusion of Fall high school girls’ play. In November the girls finished as Champions in the Phoenix Rush Tournament.

PARK CITY, Utah — The Matt Knoop Leadership award, given out each year to a Park City High School senior boy’s soccer player, was awarded on Monday night at the sport banquet to this year’s recipient, Colton Sheffert who will be attending California’s Occidental College to play DIII Soccer. Matt who passed away in 2008 when he was 20 years old’s mother,  Kaye, was in attendance, as she and his father, Dave, try to be every year when the trophy is handed out.
