Authorities in St. John the Baptist Parish say they have tentatively identified the body of woman recovered from the Mississippi River in LaPlace on Saturday. Tattoos and other physical identifiers on the woman's body appear to match the description of 20-year-old Jameshia Selders, a New Orleans woman who relatives say disappeared after falling into the river near the New Orleans Riverwalk, according to St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre.

Investigators with the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office are asking for the public's help in identifying a woman whose body was recovered from the Mississippi River on Saturday. The department received a report of a person who was possible deceased in the water near the 600 block of Louisiana Highway 628. The St. John Parish Fire Department helped retrieve her body.

A Harvey woman and three men are charged with murder, accused of helping her kill her ex-boyfriend after he broke things off, according to authorities. Subrina Honore, 32, Arthur Thomas, 31, Jatary Joseph, 32, and Jjaun Jasmin, 34, were charged with second-degree murder and obstruction of justice in a superseding indictment handed up on June 5, according to Jefferson Parish court records. All four have pleaded not guilty. They are accused in the Jan.

Authorities have identified the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center inmate who died Wednesday night after suffering a medical emergency at the Gretna jail. John Young II, 35, was pronounced dead at West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero where he was transported from the jail, according to the Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office. An autopsy has been conducted, but his cause of death has not yet been determined.
