On the day President Donald Trump took office, he issued executive orders restricting immigration and suspending the United States Refugee Admissions program. "It's often women who are trying to save their families and get them out as conflict begins or as things happen," said Julie Davis, CEO of YWCA Tulsa.

Sovana Benis moved to Tulsa five years ago and opened Notes of Marrakesh, across from The Church Studio, in August. She's the owner, chef and server. She uses traditional Moroccan spices and cooks everything from scratch.
