A new skate park has been earmarked for Antrim through the next phase of PEACEPLUS funding. Mid and East Antrim Borough Council’s Planning Committee has granted permission for new social housing in Larne’s Craigyhill estate. The proposal by applicant NB Housing is for 14 houses and four apartments on a vacant site at Cairngorm Drive to provide a mixture of “general and complex needs dwellings”, some of which will be wheelchair accessible.

Antrim and Newtownabbey councillors have approved amendments to cemetery regulations to provide “uniformity and dignity” across the borough. A report presented to the borough council’s Operations Committee, at a meeting in Antrim Civic Centre, on Monday evening, said a recent review of the Garden of Remembrance, at Carnmoney Cemetery, in Newtownabbey, was “prompted by a complaint regarding an unauthorised structure”.
