MILWAUKEE — The window of a Bay View bar displaying different pride flags was damaged Sunday night when someone threw a rock through the glass. The Sugar Maple, located off Lincoln Avenue and just steps from busy Kinnickinnic Avenue, had its window partially smashed while a bartender was inside closing up for the night. "It's a scary thing," said Xay Matabele, who is a bartender and the events coordinator at The Sugar Maple.

ELKHORN — Families in Elkhorn looking for relief from the summer heat will have to find alternatives as the city's Sunset Pool has been temporarily closed after glass was discovered in the swimming area. The city's recreation director confirmed that the glass came from a shattered pair of swimming goggles found by a patron on Saturday. Following CDC guidelines and to ensure safety for all swimmers, the pool must now be fully drained and vacuumed before reopening.

MILWAUKEE — A Milwaukee couple is staying vigilant after their pride flag was stolen from their front yard during Pride Month. Anoma Stoiber and her wife Robin are now taking it one step at a time, both more alert in their quiet Milwaukee neighborhood after the incident early Saturday morning just after 1:30 a.m. "It's hurtful," Stoiber said. Surveillance video shows a gray van driving past their house on Sholes Avenue.

MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Police Department is looking to implement facial recognition technology as a new tool for solving crimes, but the proposal is facing opposition from community members and advocacy groups. "It is a digital technology that compares photos obtained during criminal investigations with lawfully possessed arrest photos," said Heather Hough, MPD Chief of Staff.
