Erie County high school sports fans, for the final time during the 2024-25 academic year, can vote for their favorite players in the Erie Times-News Seaway Window and AHN Sports Medicine athlete of the week polls. Although ballots will resume for several more weeks, this week will be the last ones with nominees for a specific week. Also, this week's polls will run from Tuesday at 5 p.m. through Thursday at 5 p.m. because of the Memorial Day holiday.

SHIPPENSBURG — The coaching staff for Slippery Rock University's track and field program are experiencing a great weekend. The Memorial Day holiday is only a miniscule part of that. The Rock, for the second time in as many days, learned one of its recruits added a PIAA gold medal to their athletic resume. Less than 24 hours after Corry's Nolan Carey won the state's Class 2A boys javelin, Sharon's Ondrea Young did the same during the May 24 2A girls 100-meter hurdles final.

Cathedral Prep seeks to win this weekend’s PIAA Class 2A boys team tennis tournament a year after the Ramblers lost to Lancaster Country Day in the championship dual at Hershey.

Prep moved into the PIAA team quarterfinals with a 5-0 win over South Park. Bradley Ng, Gavin Ferretti and Charbel Moubarak won in singles.
