The Erie Times-News Seaway Window and AHN Sports Medicine will conduct athlete of the week polls for District 10's spring sports seasons. Ballots will be posted through late May. Fans, coaches and statisticians can suggest athlete of the week nominees over a specific calendar week. They can be submitted to [email protected]. Although the Times-News doesn't guarantee they'll be selected, they will be considered.

District 10's 2025 track and field season begins in full this weekend with notable returnees back for several teams. General McLane will host its inaugural Lancer Relays in and around Linden Field on Friday. The next day, some district teams are scheduled to compete in meets at Butler and Pittsburgh's Baldwin High School.

So much for home sweet home. At least through three games of the Ontario Hockey League playoff between the Erie Otters and Saginaw Spirit. The Otters sought a commanding 3-0 series advantage by the end of Tuesday's meeting at Erie Insurance Arena. They were in position to accomplish that with a 17-goal barrage over two road victories against their Michigan opponents. Now, though, the series still awaits its initial win by a home team due to Zayne Parekh.
