Last week, the Erie Times-News Seaway Window and AHN Sports Medicine held a best-of-the-best ballot to determine the ultimate female vote-getter for all of District 10's spring sports previous winners. This week, it's the guys' turn. The poll consists of five male athletes who received the most votes for their particular school. MEADVILLE — Fort LeBoeuf's softball team has developed a habit during its current PIAA tournament appearance. A good habit. A three-run home run habit. That specific hit has been the difference for the Bison in their two state games. Where Kendra Tobin accounted for the one in their Class 4A first round win over Elizabeth Forward, it was Mirabela Zaczyk who was responsible for that specific blast in the fifth inning of their June 5 win against Hampton.

SHIPPENSBURG — The coaching staff for Slippery Rock University's track and field program are experiencing a great weekend. The Memorial Day holiday is only a miniscule part of that. The Rock, for the second time in as many days, learned one of its recruits added a PIAA gold medal to their athletic resume. Less than 24 hours after Corry's Nolan Carey won the state's Class 2A boys javelin, Sharon's Ondrea Young did the same during the May 24 2A girls 100-meter hurdles final.
