A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of Western Pennsylvania as strong storms move across the area. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 6:15 a.m. for southeastern Fayette County and Northeastern Preston County, WV. A tornado warning has since expired. We will update you as storms move through the area if a warning is issued. A parade of April showersRain returns early Thursday. Thursday is an Impact Day with rain showers.

Western Pennsylvania is in for snow, gusty winds and a blast of bitter cold air. Pittsburgh's Action Weather forecasts snow showers developing late Wednesday night and becoming widespread for a few hours before tapering off early Thursday morning as the cold front passes. The morning commute may still be impacted. Pavement may be slippery and periods of blowing snow will continue. Snow to come with cold temperatures

Seven Springs is opening Friday and is expecting to see more snowfall -- just as Pittsburgh braces for snow this week. On Wednesday, we will start off with cooler temperatures and a mix of clouds to start the day. The first half of the day may bring some sunshine but, the second half of the day will remain cloudy. Wednesday night is also when we will see snow roll through parts of the area. Snow is expected to come down starting at 10 p.m. ahead of the Thursday morning commute.

Pittsburgh is making way for some snow this week but, not in the way some areas have been receiving it. On Tuesday, temperatures will be cool, with some areas not reaching above freezing. It will be dry, with a chance of sunlight to peak throughout the day. As we head into Wednesday, however, this is where we will start to see a shift. Wednesday will remain cold and dry until the late evening.

The rain and snow are making their way back to Pittsburgh just in time for holiday travelling and shopping. Tonight, we will see rain kick off starting after 9 p.m. and lasting until roughly 10 a.m. Thanksgiving morning. On Thursday, there may be a chance of some slight rain showers throughout the day but, the rain should move out and leave the second half of the day being dry.
