The 2013 Bishop Diego High School graduate has been named the Cardinals boys head basketball coach. He was an assistant under James Coronado who stepped away after this past season. Richey was a standout at Bishop Diego in basketball and then played in college at three different schools finishing up at Cal Lutheran University.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Two of the top athletes at Santa Barbara High School Luke Zuffelato and Kai Mault were part of nine student-athletes that were celebrated at signing ceremony at Peabody Stadium. Zuffelato signs with UC Santa Barbara after setting the career scoring and rebounding records for the Dons boys basketball program. Mault signs with UC Davis for baseball. He was a game-breaker for the Dons football team and his speed is a major weapon on the bases for Santa Barbara baseball.

GOLETA, Calif. - Dos Pueblos slugged three home runs and scored runs in every inning as they routed San Marcos 12-2 in a Channel League softball game that was shortened to five innings due to the Mercy Rule. Anna Gray, Kacey Hurley and Julianna Brunner all drilled home runs as the Chargers improve to 8-2 in the Channel League. Kayla Aguilar homered for San Marcos who dropped to 2-7 in league.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - San Marcos boys tennis served up revenge on Santa Barbara as they swept the last round of doubles to pull out a hard-fought 10-8 Channel League victory. Both teams are tied for first place in league after the Royals avenged an earlier season loss to the Dons by that same 10-8 score. San Marcos #1 singles player Carter Cotich went 3-0 for the Royals but the San Marcos doubles play was the difference going 7-2 overall.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Dos Pueblos overwhelmed Santa Barbara 16-3 to clinch their second straight Channel League boys lacrosse championship. The Chargers are a perfect 17-0 on the regular season which concludes at San Marcos on Thursday. DP dominated the second half by outscoring the Dons 11-0 after the break. Dan Finneran scored a game-high 5 goals while his brother Jack Finneran and Orion Prewarski each added 4 goals. (Orion Prewarski had a 7 point night with 4 goals and 3 assists. Entenza Design).

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Troy Cooper, Josh Morano, and Tanner Sagouspe combined on Cal Poly's third shutout of the season, and a sacrifice fly by Casey Murray Jr. accounted for the lone run of the game in a 1-0 Cal Poly victory over Santa Clara on Tuesday inside Baggett Stadium. He broke a 44-year school record in the high jump set by former NFL great Randall Cunningham. Battle cleared 6-8.25 and finished first place at the prestigious Arcadia Invitational. RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara (24-11) and California Baptist (21-16) baseball teams went for a roller coaster ride on the baseball diamond Monday night, playing a game that included four ties and four lead changes and required all nine innings to be decided. With CBU set to join Santa Barbara in The Big West beginning in the 2027 season, if Monday's game is anything to go on, those series will be must-watch baseball.

The win moves the Dons into a first place tie with Ventura at 7-2-1 in the Channel League. Zeke Adderley drove in 2 runs with a triple as part of a 3-run first inning for the Dons who improved to 13-6-1 overall.
