The Special Legislative Commission on Student Transportation, of which Bristol Warren Regional School District Superintendent Ana Riley is a member, recently held its last formal seating of the 2025 session, when it met to formulate a report of its findings for submission to the entire General Assembly. The 13-member study group is co-chaired by local legislators Rep. Terri Cortvriend (D-Dist. 72, Portsmouth, Middletown) and Sen. Linda Ujifusa (D-Dist. 11, Portsmouth, Bristol).

Town resident and reader Phyllis Poor sent in the following act of kindness she witnessed Monday afternoon, May 5, towards one of nature's most enduring creatures delivered by a local couple:"Late this afternoon I was driving to Warren on Schoolhouse Rd."Near the new Community Garden I was forced to slam on the brakes to avoid a large turtle. Thinking I might still have my heavy winter gloves somewhere in my car I pulled over, looked, but no gloves.

Bristol Warren Regional School District Superintendent Ana Riley and Athletic Director Christy Belisle presented the school committee at its April 21 meeting with a formal plan for sports operations upon the start of the new Mt. Hope High School construction this summer. For athletics, the plans are specific to those teams at the high school who compete outdoors in both the fall and spring, starting with the 2025-26 term.

A request to have the parcel located at 51 Cole St. in town near the East Bay Bike Path re-designated to mixed use gained the support of the Warren Planning Board at its monthly meeting held Monday night, April 28. The town council, also at its monthly gathering earlier in April, referred the application to the planning board.

The Mt. Hope High School boys' volleyball team met the middle of its 2025 regular season in recent days much in the same way Huskies have gone about their business so far this spring, with wins. Mt. Hope saw its run of shutouts come to a close, but the Huskies managed to defeat Exeter-West Greenwich 3-1 for their ninth victory of the year.
