PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Portland has gone nearly a month without a deadly shooting, stabbing, or any other type of homicide. It’s a gap the city has not seen for years, but those on the frontlines of the fight to curb gun violence said more needs to be done to keep the trend going. “I think that we’re missing community accountability. We need community members to step up when they see conflict and say, ‘Hey, not right now,’” said Lionel Irving.

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A crash in the Parkrose neighborhood of Northeast Portland has left two families with smashed cars and thousands of dollars in damages. Yeah, I was pretty much in shock,” said Diane Barker.

MULTNOMAH COUNTY Ore. (KPTV) - A kayaker who disappeared on the Willamette River still hasn’t been found, but in the process of searching for him, crews made two other grim discoveries. One of them was the body of a man missing since February, and his sister said she is on a quest for answers. “I’m so confused with what happened, how it happened, how we even came to this point. This wasn’t the outcome I was hoping for,” Mereida Alcazar said.

HOOD RIVER Ore. (KPTV) - Wildfire season typically starts in June, but it’s already on the minds of many Oregonians. Electrical equipment operated by Pacific Power was blamed for starting major fires back in 2020, however, the state forestry department later found they were not at fault, and now the utility held a community forum on Thursday to share how it’s working to ensure safety.
