Shortly after midnight on June 4, Comanche County EMS, the Sheriff’s Office, and fire departments from Energy, Gustine, Comanche, Proctor, and Hamilton responded to a structure fire south of Lamkin on County Road 286. According to the Comanche County Sheriff’s Office, two individuals were attempting to evacuate the residence when the 79-year-old homeowner fell near the home. Despite life-saving efforts at the scene, the homeowner succumbed to their injuries.
