Metro Police Officer arrested, suspended

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Las Vegas Metro Police have arrested one of their own. The department announced Monday that Officer Dylon Carden was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center over the weekend. According to report from North Las Vegas Police, Carden tried to enter a home in the early morning hours on Saturday because he thought his wife was having an affair with the home's resident. Carden faces one count of home invasion and one count of burglary.
Police make arrest in attack on Tesla collision center

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Las Vegas Metro Police say that they've arrested a suspect in an attack on vehicles outside of a Tesla collision center in the southwest valley back on March 18th. According the the 8 News Now Investigators, 36-year-old Paul Kim, 36 faces charges including arson and possessing an explosive device. Five vehicles were damaged, and the word "resist" was spray-painted on the Tesla center's front doors. Police said an unignited Molotov cocktail was found in one of the cars.

Ford has issued an alert to Nevadans who have shared their genetic information with the company 23andMe to consider deleting their information for privacy purposes. 23andMe recently filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy with the stated goal of finding a buyer, raising concerns among many users about the privacy of their shared genetic data.
Metro identifies officer involved in fatal weekend shooting

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - A shooting involving Las Vegas Metro Police ended with a man dead over the weekend. Police were originally called to a home near Sunset and Durango on Saturday afternoon. When then arrived they heard the sound of a gunshot coming from inside the residence. Police then say the suspect came out of his home with his weapon and was ordered repeatedly to drop it. Instead, Metro says he pointed it at officers.

Back on February 13 th, the chief was placed on leave and given an ultimatum: either quit, or be fired. Thursday, Henderson City Manager Stephanie Garcia-Vause announced that Chadwick didn't agree to the terms and was let go.
Vegas murder suspect arrested in Denver

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - A man wanted for murder Las Vegas has been arrested in Denver. Las Vegas Metro Police say 41-year-old Steven Neal was taken into custody on February 26 th, two days after the killing occurred. Two days prior to Neal's arrest, Metro was called to an apartment complex near Eastern and Bonanza and discovered a man with a gunshot wound lying behind an apartment complex leasing office. That person's identity hasn't yet been released.

According to court documents and admissions made in court, 22-year-old Jorge Olivarria-Gomez came to the United States illegally to work on behalf of a drug trafficking organization to sell fentanyl in the United States.

Whitfield's announcement shocked those in attendance at the annual UNLV Foundation Dinner at the Bellagio. In announcing his resignation Whitfield cited family as the reason, including taking care of his mom as well as a grandson who he said had health challenges.

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - The Henderson Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in identifying two suspects involved in a pair of armed robberies that occurred last spring. On the afternoon of April 14th, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery of a citizen at 1 Club Side Drive. Moments later, a second armed robbery was reported in the area of Eastern Avenue south of Sunridge Heights. In both incidents, the suspect brandished a gun and demanded the victims' watches.
