NORTH ADAMS — If you have to pay a bill with the City of North Adams, make sure to double-check the URL. You might have been directed to Doxo, a bogus bill pay website targeting residents. Doxo has no affiliation with North Adams and is posing as a legitimate payment processor, the city and its police department said in a joint statement. UniBank/UniPay is the only authorized bill processor for the city.

PITTSFIELD — More water main flushing is planned is ahead for Pittsfield next week, affecting five areas of the city. Flushing "moves water systematically through sections of a drinking water distribution system, creating a scouring action to clean the line," according to the state Department of Environmental Protection.

LANESBOROUGH — After two nights away from home, Murty the donkey has been found safe. On Saturday night, the mini donkey escaped his stall on Stormview Road after a bear got in. Lanesborough Animal Control initially reported that a bear attacked the equine, but a follow-up investigation found that he was likely unharmed. Still, as the search dragged on through Sunday night and into Monday, his family grew increasingly concerned about his safety.

If you've recently received a suspicious phone call or text message claiming to be from Berkshire Bank, it might be a part of a scam aimed at gaining access to your bank account. On Friday, the bank warned its customers of a recent wave of phone calls and texts impersonating the bank, which direct customers to a bogus online banking site. Entering your username and password on this site gives scammers access to your bank account.
