A fourth suspect has been arrested in connection with a recent homicide investigation in Wilmington. Following a traffic stop in the 400 block of Racine Drive, 31-year-old Marissa Reynolds was taken into custody, according to a news release from the Wilmington Police Department. As of Friday morning, Reynolds was being held without bond in the New Hanover County jail.

The Carolina Beach Police Department has identified one victim and one suspect in connection with a recent shooting at the Carolina Beach Inn. On May 5, 2025, officers responded to 205 Harper Ave., Carolina Beach, for report of a shooting. One victim was located at the scene and transported to Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Wilmington police are looking for two more suspects in connection with a recent homicide. Dylan Inman, 27, and Marissa Reynolds, 30, are both wanted on murder charges in connection with the death of 63-year-old Cedric Adkins, according to a news release from the Wilmington Police Department. Wilmington police advise the public not to approach Inman or Reynolds if spotted, but to call 911 immediately.

A wildfire that ignited on Friday, May 2, in Boiling Spring Lakes initially covered just five acres, but as a result of strong wind gusts, spread to approximately 650 acres by late Saturday afternoon. Prompting mandatory evacuations across five blocks and a state of emergency in Brunswick County, the fire has created dangerous conditions throughout the area. Evacuees seeking shelter have been directed to South Brunswick High School.
