WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington comedian is releasing his first comedy special featuring a sold out show at Thalian Hall. Lighthouse Films shot “Cliff Cash: The Long Road” at Wilmington’s historic Thalian Hall in front of a sold out crowd of 550 people.

FORT FISHER, NC (WWAY) — Fall is here and there are plenty of ways to get in the spooky spirit at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher is hosting three fun, fall events to get you in the Halloween spirit and help save the environment and its species all at the same time. First, the aquarium will host a Spooky Seas event with underwater shenanigans. Pumpkins, spooky frozen treats and sunken secrets await at Graveyard of the Atlantic.

SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — There are more ways to help those impacted by Helene in western North Carolina this week, but the needs are changing as the temperatures are expected to drop later this week. There are two drop off locations for donations in Southport open Monday through Wednesday. Jeff Moss, the owner of College Hunks Moving in Brunswick County, dropped off more than 7,500 pounds of donations on Sunday to Operation Air Drop and Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church in Hickory.

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Parents and young players have the chance to join the UNCW women’s basketball team for a skills and wellness clinic on the hardwood. OneSeahawk is hosting a skills and wellness clinic at Trask Coliseum on October 23 at 5 p.m. with the UNCW Women’s basketball team. Players in 8th grade and younger can get on the court with their favorite women’s basketball student-athletes to prepare for the upcoming season.

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Hundreds of organizations across North Carolina are gathering donations for the western part of the state to help after Helene, but North Carolina Emergency Management has an important reminder before anyone tries to take donations into the affected areas. The North Carolina Chamber of Commerce says if you plan to move people, resources, or equipment into Western North Carolina, you must coordinate plans and movement through the Business Emergency Operations Center.
