    KENNEWICK, Wash. — Police are investigating a shooting that happened Thursday afternoon near the 'At Home' store in Kennewick. According to authorities, the incident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, at the store located at 867 North Columbia Center Boulevard. Detectives have been dispatched to the scene to begin investigating. Police officials stated they are not looking for any suspects at this time. Law enforcement officials are conducting a preliminary investigation at the scene.

    DAYTON, Wash. -- 5:30 P.M. - At least one person has died in the helicopter crash. The family is being notified. Apple Valley News Now's Monique Ledesma was on scene, she said the helicopter went down near South Touchet Road around 12:30 p.m.Authorities said the helicopter hit power lines which knocked out power to nearly 1,000 people in and around Dayton. Power was restored to most people by 3 p.m.The crash is in a rugged area and not accessible by rescue vehicles.

Fire Chief Steve Cooper said the district is made up of all volunteers and they use Wednesday nights to practice their skills. The planned practice scenario suddenly turned into the real thing as the fire district based out of Basin City was called to a house fire on Russell Road. The call for help came in just after 6 p.m. just as training was getting underway.
