    RICHLAND, Wash. -- Following the deadly crash on March 1, 2025, involving off-duty Washington State Patrol Trooper Sarah Clasen, her defense attorney, Scott Johnson, has issued a statement addressing the crash and subsequent public scrutiny. The crash on State Route 240 in Richland resulted in the death of 20-year-old motorcyclist Jhoser Sanchez. According to police reports, Trooper Clasen's blood alcohol concentration was more than twice the legal limit at the time of the crash.

Sarah Clasen, 35, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide after a fatal crash on March 1. Officers at the scene said they suspected Clasen was driving under the influence of "intoxicants" at the time of the crash. The crash happened on SR 240 and Village Parkway in Richland.
