While families everywhere were out celebrating Mother's Day, one Brooklyn family was making sure moms who have lost their children to gun violence are not forgotten. For the seventh straight year, the Melquan Jatelle Anderson Foundation delivered their “Still a Mother” gift boxes. MJAF started back in 2018, a year after Michelle Barnes Anderson lost her son, Melquain, to gun violence.

Police say a 34-year-old man was stabbed in his leg early this morning after a verbal dispute in Greenpoint. It happened around 5:20 a.m. on Dupont Street. The victim was taken to the hospital but is expected to recover. Police say the two did not know each other. No arrests have been made as of late Sunday morning.

FDNY: Person injured in Gravesend parked-car crash caught on camera•May 10, 2025, 4:11 PM•Updated 1 min agoA vehicle collision in Gravesend Saturday morning left one person with non-life-threatening injuries, the FDNY said. The incident was caught on camera on W. 6th Street around 7:15 a.m.Surveillance video obtained by News 12 shows a red minivan crashing into two parked cars at a high speed. One of those parked vehicles, then rammed into the front gate of a home.

A crash left two officers hurt Sunday afternoon in Bed-Stuy, according to police. Authorities say the police vehicle and a Toyota Camry collided around 3:30 p.m. The driver then fled the scene. The two officers were hospitalized with minor injuries. Both are expected to be OK. No arrests have been made as of Monday morning.

A Bay Ridge building caught fire early Saturday morning, according to officials. Authorities say it started around 3:30 a.m. between 3rd and 4th avenues on the third floor at 316 68th Street. Four people refused medical treatment at the scene. One person was hospitalized. Fire marshals are working to determine the cause.
