MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) — On April 7, 2025, Louisiana State Troopers were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on I-20 westbound in Ouachita Parish. After an investigation, troopers discovered a car was traveling on the outer lane of I-20 westbound when it gradually began to exit the roadway. While exiting the roadway, the vehicle struck a pedestrian. Once officials made contact with the driver, Mecca Makenzie King, they noticed an odor on her breath suspected to be alcohol.

(KTVE/KARD) — On April 2, 2025, authorities from the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at a residence in Monroe, La, in reference to a welfare concern called in by animal control. Animal control stated they were at the home to pick up multiple animals. Upon arrival at the residence, animal control stated they could smell an odor commonly associated with decomposition coming from the home.
