A support service for victims of sexual assault in Western Australia's north says the community should be deeply concerned by two alleged public attacks in one of the Kimberley's main towns. Men have been arrested and charged in connection with both alleged attacks, with both due to face court again in coming weeks. Both the unconnected attacks were reported in Broome, 2,000 kilometres north of Perth, in the past seven days.

Displaced residents in Western Australia's north face a wait to be returned to their communities after the impact of Cyclone Zelia, with emergency services prioritising the effort to get evacuated people back to their homes. The Tropical Cyclone crossed the Pilbara coast near De Grey on Friday afternoon at category-four intensity, causing damage to towns and pastoral stations.

Temperature records were broken in the Midwest, Perth and South West on Monday. Tropical Cyclone Sean has caused heavy rainfall for much of northern WA, resulting in a sinkhole. The extreme heat is set to continue for most of the week. Extreme weather across much of Western Australia over the past two days has seen temperature records smashed, power outages and the emergence of a sinkhole in the Pilbara after heavy flooding.

A man has been allegedly attacked with an axe, eight people have been arrested and additional police have been deployed after a violent 24 hours in Western Australia's far north. Police said a 27-year-old man suffered serious injuries after he was allegedly attacked by six people in the Kimberley town of Halls Creek, with one of the assailants allegedly striking the victim with an axe.

The Western Australian government is offering a $500,000 reward to help solve long-term missing persons cases. It is the first time in the state’s history that a reward has been offered in long-term missing persons cases. In recent years, six Indigenous men from communities in the state’s north have disappeared. In September, the families of the men gathered for a rally at Parliament House in Perth, demanding more police resourcing to try and locate them.
