COLUMBIA, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - South Carolina lawmakers have a reached a compromise that targets the rising rates of liquor liability insurance. The goal is to keep businesses from having to close because they can’t afford the cost. A measure passed on Wednesday addresses the controversial “joint and several” component which held parties fully responsible for damages caused by an alcoholic-related tragedy. The new law says businesses must be at least 50 percent responsible.

By the end of the meeting, faculty members had unanimously voted to disinvite President Nathan Copeland, Executive Vice President and CFO Jeremy Whitaker and the entire Board of Trustees from Limestone’s last-ever commencement ceremonies on May 3.

GAFFNEY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - An accelerated high school program held at Limestone University has been forced to find another home because of the college’s impending closure. During the 2024-2025 school year, 52 students have participated in the Cherokee County School District’s Scholars Academy on Limestone’s campus. Interim superintendent Dr. Thomas White said CCSD is “saddened” by Limestone’s closure and is restructuring the program.
