MINNEAPOLIS — The prospect of fire danger in Minnesota has caused the KARE 11 Meteorology team to declare Monday a Weather Impact Alert day. "With high fire danger continuing into tomorrow afternoon, we have decided to issue another Weather Impact Alert for Monday," said KARE 11 Meteorologist Ben Dery. According to Dery, high temperatures are expected once again, after a hot Sunday.

INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, Minn. — The Minnesota State Fire Marshal is investigating after a fire claimed the life of one person on Sunday. The Inver Grove Heights Fire Department was initially called to an apartment fire on Babcock Trail shortly after noon, according to a release. Upon a search of the home. crews located a person inside who was taken to the hospital, but was pronounced dead after their arrival, said the statement.

MINNESOTA, USA — Crews throughout Minnesota have spent the weekend working to extinguish blazes as the National Weather Service declared a red flag warning early on Sunday. On Saturday night, the Minneapolis Fire Department confirmed that a building housing at least nine college students was deemed uninhabitable after being ravaged by a fire. The Red Cross was called to assist those students, according to a statement from the department.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Multiple fights broke out at an over-capacity basketball showcase at Eden Prairie High School, according to the police. The Eden Prairie Police Department was initially called to the school to help disperse the crowd at the Prep Hoops North Battle at the Lakes tournament shortly before 6 p.m., according to a release. Several "minor scuffles" broke out as the officers worked to disperse the crowd, but there were no reported injuries or arrests, said the Eden Prairie Police.
