PAYNESVILLE, Minn. — The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) is reporting that a man who died following a confrontation with police in Paynesville was killed by a self-inflicted gunshot after an officer fired his gun. According to the BCA, officers were initially responding to a domestic incident on the 600 block of Stearns Avenue after 9 p.m. on June 2.

MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota Vikings legend Jim Marshall died on Tuesday after a lengthy hospitalization, according to the team. He was 87. Marshall defined the Vikings' image as tough, appearing in a then-NFL record 270 straight games, including his tenure as a member of the Purple People Eaters. Following the news of his death, the Vikings posted a tribute to Marshall on behalf of Mark and Zygi Wilf and the Wilf Family Ownership Group.

ST. CLOUD, Minn. — A 19-year-old man was arrested in Minneapolis earlier this week for his alleged role in a fatal St. Cloud shooting back in February. According to the charges, Bernard Bowens is charged with second and third-degree murder for the alleged killing of 17-year-old Layson Davis on Feb. 2. Officers were initially called to the 200 block of 2nd Street Northeast just before 3 a.m. that morning on a report of shots being fired inside the building.
