The group Escucha Mi Voz Iowa says that policy allows state troopers to act like Immigration Customs Enforcement agents and racially profile members of the community and family separation.

    WATERLOO, Iowa — Local religious groups are responding to the Trump Administration's latest plan to pay illegal immigrants $1,000 to self-deport or risk getting arrested. The Department of Homeland Security said in a news release Monday that it’s also paying for travel assistance and that those people who use an app called CBP Home to tell the government that they plan to return home will be “deprioritized” for detention and removal by immigration enforcement.

    CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (IOWA'S NEWS NOW) — A crash is blocking a portion of I-380 in Cedar Rapids that may be slowing you down on the Wednesday morning commute. The Iowa DOT is reporting a multi-car crash on northbound I-380 near the Wright Brothers Boulevard exit. The crash is currently blocking the road. We are told that drivers in the area have been told to exit and find an alternate route.
