DES MOINES, Iowa — Gas prices in the state have dropped just over 6 cents a gallon, with the average on Monday at $2.87 a gallon. GasBuddy surveys 2,036 stations in Iowa. It shows that prices in Iowa are nearly 15 cents lower than last month and nearly 32 cents lower than a year ago. Diesel costs are also down, with the national average at $3.56 a gallon. The cheapest station in the state had gas as $2.44 a gallon, $4.11 was the highest.

Since 1995, over $36 million has been raised by one student-led organization at the University of Iowa. All the money going to those who need some help with a battle they're fighting, Pediatric Cancer. Every year, hundreds get together to take to the dance floor for 24 hours. All for a good cause.
