Police are continuing their search of an East Side landfill for the remains of Suzanne Simpson, a missing San Antonio area real estate agent. Barton Tinsley Simpson, Suzanne Simpson's brother-in-law, said the Olmos Park Police Department sent him a message Monday indicating that investigators feel "there is a good chance of recovering Suzanne" at a East Side landfill.

Elderly and disabled residents are fearful after two men were killed within days at their public housing complex located downtown, near Hemisfair. Nick Martinez, 59, was found dead on Oct. 1 at Victoria Plaza Apartments, in the 400 block of Barrera Street. Another resident, Donnell Sterling, 52, was found shot and killed in his apartment on Oct. 4, according to San Antonio police. In the summer of 2019, I met with my then-editor at Kensington Books, and she mentioned Alice Beatrice Jones and Leonard ‘Kip’ Rhinelander and their headline news story from the 1920s.
