A trio of Devils River Whiskey investors say it's time for last call at the struggling San Antonio distiller. In a filing late Wednesday in Devils River's bankruptcy case, they say the business has never turned a profit and only survived on investment funding and loans. "Unfortunately there is no viable path to profitability for the Debtors and the time has come for them to cease operations and liquidate assets," they say.

A Louisiana woman who federal prosecutors say masterminded a bank fraud conspiracy targeting customers at USAA Federal Savings Bank and other financial institutions has been sentenced to more than 11 years in prison. Destane Glass, 24, of Shreveport, La., was sentenced to 135 months in prison and ordered to pay almost $540,000 in restitution after pleading guilty in November to conspiracy to commit bank fraud, according to a court filing Monday.

Three months after a San Antonio jury socked Bill Miller Bar-B-Q with a $2.8 million verdict in the case of a customer who suffered second-degree burns from spilling hot barbecue sauce on her thigh, the restaurant chain has been hit with a new lawsuit over an allegedly similar incident. San Antonio resident Angelica Ochoa this week sued Bill Miller Bar-B-Q Enterprises Ltd. for negligence over second-degree burns she says she sustained after spilling barbecue sauce on her leg.
