But the Zig is known for being smart, funny, and taking some chances to tell a good story.

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah, May 12, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — South Jordan Fire deputy chief Ryan Lessner said in a Monday afternoon news release that investigators believe they have found the cause of a structure fire Sunday night. “While the final determination of the fire remains under investigation, preliminary findings suggest that the fire likely originated on the side of the home where lithium-ion battery-powered equipment was stored,” the release says.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, May 2, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the death of a Magna missionary serving in Charlotte, North Carolina. “Elder Aleki Langi, 18, was killed on Thursday, May 1, 2025, after the driver of a car apparently lost control and veered onto the sidewalk,” the news release says. “A second missionary was also hit, sustaining minor injuries. He was treated and released from the hospital.
