Brian Murphy, the actor best known for his roles in popular sitcoms Man About The House and George And Mildred, has sadly passed away at the age of 92. His agent, Thomas Bowington, confirmed to the PA news agency that Murphy died peacefully at his Kent home on Sunday morning, with his wife, Hi-de-Hi! actress Linda Regan, by his side.

Actress Anita Dobson has said her husband Sir Brian May is “stable” and they are “taking each day as it comes” following his stroke last year. The Queen guitarist, 77, revealed in an Instagram post in September he had lost control over his arm after a “minor stroke”. EastEnders and Doctor Who actress Dobson, who has been married to the musician since 2000, said the health scare had reminded her that “life is precious”. “Brian is stable now”, she told The Sun newspaper.

BBC newsreader Clive Myrie has apologised for failing to declare tens of thousands of pounds in payments from external events that he undertook outside his role at the corporation. The Bolton-born TV presenter, 60, blamed the error on “several administrative issues” and said he will not be taking part in paid external events for the “foreseeable future”, except for some pre-existing commitments.
