    The heartbroken parents of a murdered Middlesbrough girl spoke of their "everlasting misery" as they continue to fight for justice. Donna Keogh disappeared on April 19, 1998, after visiting a house in Bow Street and it is believed the 17-year-old was murdered shortly after. Her killer or killers still remain at large and her body has never been found.

    Suspended officers at Cleveland Police were paid just under half a million pounds over the past five years, "gobsmacking" figures have revealed. There are 13 cops currently suspended from duty at the force. A Freedom of Information request has shown that over the course of 2024, it cost taxpayers £34,500 for the wages of officers who were suspended that year. The total cost for the past five years amounts to just under £499,500, a figure described as "enormous" by the TaxPayers' Alliance (TPA).

    An investigation has been launched after a Middlesbrough burglar died behind bars. Haile Ghebre died at HMP Thameside, a private category B men's prison in south-east London run by SERCO, on March 11 this year. An independent investigation is now being carried out into the 44-year-old's death by the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman. Mr Ghebre reportedly came to the UK as child, from Eritrea in Africa. He lived in London before moving to Middlesbrough.

    A TikTok trend is causing chaos at some screenings of the new Minecraft film, with some moviegoers reportedly being ejected at a Teesside cinema. Clips on the social media platform have shown people tossing drinks and popcorn in the air and jumping around during certain scenes, particularly when a baby zombie appears riding a chicken. The "chicken jockey" trend is occurring across the globe at screenings of the PG-rated film, based on the computer game.

    A fifth suspect has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an alleged shooting in Grangetown last year. As reported, four people have already been charged and brought to court in connection with the reported incident in Richmond Court over a year ago. A man, aged 40 at the time, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries believed by police to have been caused by a firearm.
