LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WIS/Gray News) - A woman who was one of several people impacted by a lightning strike in South Carolina now says she is lucky to be alive. Officials said 20 people were assessed Tuesday near Lake Murray, the scene of the lightning strike. The strike took place in the area of Dominion Energy’s public beach along the lake. The Irmo Fire District said the bolt energized metal lines holding buoys in the water around the swimming area.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The University of South Carolina (USC) Board of Trustees met Thursday afternoon to discuss approval of the next phase of renovations to Williams-Brice Stadium. The board unanimously approved both phase two of the renovations and the bond resolution for the stadium during their meeting. Phase two of renovations includes upgrades to the student section and locker rooms, improvements for concessions and restrooms and more back-of-house updates to better services at the stadium.
