Given that 65% of Montrealers rent their homes, and that roughly half of the city’s 4,000 short-term rental units are operating illegally, the City of Montreal is placing added regulations on the likes of Airbnb and VRBO in order to free up a projected 2,000 much-needed housing units. Short-term rentals will now be allowed across Montreal in primary residences between June 10 and Sept. 10.

Two Falls (Nishu Takuatshina) is a narrative exploration game in which you follow the story of two characters whose paths intersect: that of Jeanne, a young shipwrecked Frenchwoman who finds herself stranded far from the French colonies, and Maïkan, an Innu hunter who tries to cope with the rapid changes that threaten the land of his ancestors. With an interactive movie feel, players will explore the wild Canadian territory through the two radically different points of view of Jeanne and Maïkan.

In Psycho Fear, you explore a dimly lit insane asylum — or some such booby-trapped, blood-soaked, abandoned institution — as you work your way through a series of escape room puzzles. Armed with your trusty terrible flashlight, you’ll find plenty of body horror, gore, creepy dolls, jumpscares and Satan-worshippers along the way. Levels are timed and failing to find your way out of each room results in a variety of torturous deaths.

The owners of Montreal restaurant Paloma made an announcement on Instagram today that they have closed. Named after a family-favourite beach located in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Paloma was a love letter to Nice by father-daughter duo Armand and Rosalie Forcherio, renowned for their selection of offal and thoughtfully curated wine list. The team at Paloma — which ranked #55 among Canada’s Top 100 Restaurants this year — thanked their staff, suppliers and patrons.

Summer Game Fest, founded by games journalist Geoff Keighley in 2020, has become possibly the biggest event where games are announced, celebrated and revealed in the North American market. The week-long festival, which took place in June, kicked off with the titular Summer Game Fest (SGF), followed by a series of themed and curated announcement events, including Day of the Devs, Women-Led Studios and Latin American Games Showcase.
