6.25am, Tuesday June 13, 2023 my alarm went off as usual. I flicked straight onto Nottinghamshire Live’s analytics to see if the early shift on our newsdesk had picked up any breaking news, as I normally do. Little did I, or anyone else, know at that point that the most horrific of events had unfolded on our city's streets overnight. Passengers caught could face a £50 fineAir passengers in Turkey have been issued a strict warning: remain seated or risk a fine. The Turkish authorities are now imposing fines of up to £50 on passengers who fail to stay in their seats until the plane has come to a complete stop. This move is in response to the ongoing issue of passengers standing up too early, accessing overhead bins, and crowding the aisles before the aircraft has reached the terminal.

Travellers flying in Turkey have been hit with a stern warning: stay seated or face a fine. Turkish authorities are now enforcing fines of up to £50 for those passengers who fail to remain in their seats until the plane has fully stopped. This move comes as airlines struggle with the recurrent problem of passengers who prematurely stand up, rummage through overhead bins, and crowd the aisles while the aircraft is yet to dock at the terminal.
