    Grant - Organisations in Wivenhoe can apply until the end of the month for the Wivenhoe Society grant (Image: Newsquest) Organisations in Wivenhoe can apply to get a share of more than £2,000. The Wivenhoe Society raised £2,450 at this year’s Open Gardens, which will be available to town businesses as a grant. The event was organised by St Mary’s Church and the society, and included 33 gardens visited by 700 people.

Owner Mark McCann  said: “The idea for the wine bar was born out of a conversation, and the idea to do something nice with the building. “The place has been known to be a bar or a cafe, and it is great to hear from customers when they tell me about the history of this place.”  Crescent Moon Bar opened in April this year, as Mark wanted to grow the business organically.
