Since the age of 10, I have had an overwhelming passion for criminology and homicide forensics. I have taught myself almost every aspect about the art of forensics and detective work. I’m even planning to major in the field at Yale University. Yet, despite all of my knowledge about murderers and how to catch them, there’s still one aspect I have yet to understand. Many killers have been diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder, but what about ASPD makes them homicidal?

They say eyes are windows into the soul, reflecting every thought, feeling, and worry someone has at that very moment. Although they are a major part of body language, eyes are a language in themselves, creating a greater understanding about what is being verbally said in a way almost everybody can understand. The human eyes are extraordinary, showing insights of the mind in their own particular way, emphasizing the differences between many emotions, especially being in love, angry, and fearful.

Alongside everyone else in my generation, I have grown up with the internet. I don’t remember the days when there were only house phones or phone booths, I don’t remember when you had to physically get up to change the channel, and I don’t remember having to press a series of numbers just to text someone. Throughout my 16 years of life, all I have ever known is the existence of the internet and social media. The truth is, I wish I didn’t.

Out of everything I’ve done in my lifetime, the biggest accomplishment I've ever made was skipping fourth grade. It brought me so many opportunities and has given me multiple ways of better enhancing my future. Even though I've never been more proud of anything else I've done, I sometimes still regret it. Not because of the school work getting harder or how accepting the higher grade was, but because of a feeling no one else I've ever met can understand.

The entire concept of mistakes has been around for centuries. Whether purposely or accidentally, it's a completely normal thing every human faces. There's only one problem, and that's the way we view the errors we make. From my experiences, most people look at their mistakes as a form of failure. Some people believe their mistakes make up who they are, some choose to learn from theirs to try to better themselves, and a lot of people just don't care at all.
