OAKLAND — Morteza Amiri, the former Antioch K9 cop who became the face of a massive police corruption scandal, was sentenced Tuesday to seven years in prison for crimes that included involvement in a fraud scheme and maiming someone with his dog. U.S. District Judge Jeffrey White reached the decision in front of a packed courthouse at the Ron Dellums Federal Building in Oakland.

OAKLAND — A local stablehand agreed to serve nine years in prison for fatally shooting a man during a confrontation, court records show. DUBLIN — A man was sentenced to 14 years in state prison for killing his ex-girlfriend’s cousin during a dispute over a vehicle, court records show. Zechariah Fisher, 26, pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter in a plea deal with Alameda County prosecutors. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors dropped a murder charge. Fisher was transferred to state prison in April and is currently incarcerated in Wasco, records show.

SAN FRANCISCO — A local resident was sentenced to two years in prison after he tried and failed to get his gun possession case thrown out since an officer discovered it while frisking his groin area, records show. Ricky Rollins, 39, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm after U.S. District Judge William Alsup upheld San Francisco police Officer Erika Viola’s search of Rollins’ groin during a 2023 search of his home.
