The Franklin Wildcats take a knee after defeating the Davis Blue Devils, 50-8, on Friday at Cosumnes Oaks High School in Elk Grove. Special to The Bee The Franklin Wildcats continued their undefeated season Friday night, taking down the visiting Davis Blue Devils, 50-8. The Wildcats are in the process of rebuilding their program led by third-year coach Joseph McCray. It's been going well so far, and the squad is now 4-0 after defeating their one-time Delta League rivals at Cosumnes Oaks.

The tradition and legacy live on for the Jesuit Marauders soccer program, coached by a soccer lifer who hasn’t lost an ounce of passion to teach the game. The top-seeded Marauders on Saturday night defeated upstart McClatchy, seeded seventh, 1-0 to win the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division I championship at Cosumnes River College. A packed house at CRC saw the Marauders win their 15th soccer banner under coach Paul Rose, far and away the most titles in section history.

The Del Oro Golden Eagles didn’t just face the pressure cooker of expectations. They embraced it. Seeded fifth in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division I girls soccer bracket, the Golden Eagles of Loomis made history Saturday night in accomplishing exactly what they set out to do. They won their first large-school tournament in program history, beating No. 3 Davis 1-0 at Cosumnes River College, a year after taking home D-II honors.
