A new lawsuit filed by the Ohio attorney general accuses the nation’s largest mortgage lender of “predatory business practices” in the Buckeye State. In the lawsuit, filed Thursday in an Ohio court, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost accused executives at Pontiac-based United Wholesale Mortgage of “conspiring with brokers to rip off Ohio consumers,” according to a news release announcing the lawsuit, which seeks a jury trial and damages.

A familiar voice on Detroit radio and television is leaving WJR amid what he said are financial cutbacks at the station. Guy Gordon, 66, a Detroit media veteran and on-air host at WJR 760 AM since 2017, has left the station, he confirmed to Crain’s on Tuesday morning. A message seeking comment from a WJR station executive was not immediately returned.

Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan hopes for a “bipartisan solution” on tariffs, but given current politics, is skeptical of such an outcome. Duggan, who is now running for Michigan governor while continuing to focus on his role as CEO of the state’s largest city, said Monday that given the economic interconnectedness of the Canadian province of Ontario and metro Detroit, tariffs are sure to cause considerable pain.

After 30 years in Grosse Pointe, Suzanne and John Conroy decided to move closer to family on further west in metro Detroit. In the summer of 2023, the couple closed on the purchase of a 1,500-square-foot home in Royal Oak, near 12 Mile Road and Main Street. Suzanne Conroy, 66, says the area offers a walkable feel and “such a nice quality of life.” To be sure, a move of just over 20 miles across one large metropolitan area may seem like an ordinary event, but it also speaks to an emerging trend.
