BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The U.S. women’s hockey team will face Team Canada in Buffalo this fall as the teams prep for the 2026 Olympics. The game is part of the 2025 Rivalry Series that will see the U.S. and Canada square off twice on each side of the border. The Buffalo game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8 at KeyBank Center. Tickets go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m.The first game of the Rivalry Series — now in its sixth season — is set for Nov. 6 in Cleveland.

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Jamestown man was arrested early Saturday morning after police allege he broke into a residence armed with a baseball bat and assaulted the victim. Jamestown police said they initially responded to a call for a domestic dispute around 1:30 a.m. Saturday and discovered the altercation became physical. Police accused 32-year-old Chaze A. Johnson of choking and biting the victim, breaking their glasses, and taking their cell phone to prevent them from calling 911.

AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) – Shake Shack’s first traditional brick-and-mortar store in the Buffalo area is set to open next week on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Amherst. The location at 1531 Niagara Falls Blvd. Ste 300 – situated in the same plaza as burger chain Five Guys, less than a mile from the Boulevard Mall – will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. starting on Wednesday, May 21. Western New York’s only other Shake Shack is a location inside the Angola thruway rest stop on I-90.
