Friday, April 25, a Dutchess County tutoring program was put on pause due to funding cuts by the Department of Government Efficiency. Ampact, a national nonprofit that provides AmeriCorps programming, serves almost 600 children across Dutchess County. There's been effort by Ampact and its local partners to keep the programs running, even without federal funding. The tutors have been able to resume for the immediate future, as of Monday, May 5.

On Monday, May 5, Roy C Ketcham High School, a part of the Wappingers Central School District, had an early dismissal due to a student-issued Chromebook emitting smoke. Roy C. Ketcham High School students were dismissed early on Monday, May 5, due to a Chromebook. Wappingers Central School District Superintendent of Schools Dwight Bonk said a student-issued Chromebook, which may have been tampered with, began to emit smoke around 8:50 a.m., causing the fire alarms to activate at the school.

The resort is a partnership between Nolan Reynolds International, Kerzner International and the Culinary Institute of America. An ultra-luxury resort, featuring a partnership with the Culinary Institute of America and private homes with chef's kitchens, is coming to Dutchess County in 2028.

Food & Wine magazine has named a mid-Hudson Valley eatery among the top 15 restaurants in the country. WICCOPEE — The IBM West Campus at 32-34 Patriot Way in Hopewell Junction has been redeveloped. Stellantis, a publicly traded company and multinational automaker, owning brands like Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Maserati, Peugeot and Ram, has opened a $64 million, state-of-the-art Mopar Parts Distribution Center in East Fishkill. Next to the Mopar facility is the Amazon warehouse, originally proposed by Bluewater Property Group in 2021.
