By Beth CarrollThree years ago, Leyton Beba auditioned for Morristown Onstage, playing his guitar and singing. “I was so nervous that I immediately forgot all the lyrics,” he remembered. “Needless to say, I didn’t make it.”Those nerves were nowhere in sight on Tuesday night when he joined longtime emcee Tara Bernie at the Mayo Performing Arts Center as the first student co-host in the talent show’s 18-year history. From the time she was a youngster in Miami, Monroe has taken dance lessons, acting lessons, and voice lessons, both opera and musical theater.

While she has always loved singing, the thought of performing in front of a sold-out crowd at the Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) was daunting for someone who was only 10 years old. But she is a finalist again this year and, at 14, is more than ready for the challenge.
