Erie police have joined several other local police departments in implementing a blue envelope program aimed at helping people who may communicate differently than others when they interact with police. The envelopes are designed to hold important documents, such as identification, vehicle registration and emergency contact information, so when an officer interacts with an individual who may have a condition or disability that may impact communication, all necessary materials are in one place.

Broomfield police have confirmed that the man who died in a head-on crash on Thursday was not the driver who caused it. On Thursday evening, Broomfield police were called to a crash on U.S. 287 just north of Miramonte Boulevard. Police believe that a man was driving northbound on U.S. 287 when he drove across the median and into the southbound lanes of U.S. 287, causing a head-on collision, according to Broomfield police spokeswoman Rachel Haslett.

Broomfield police believe a reported stabbing that happened at 3:28 p.m. Saturday near U.S. 287 and Midway Boulevard was related to a road rage incident. Police believe that an individual reportedly threw a drink at another car before the two drivers stopped their vehicles, according to Broomfield police spokeswoman Rachel Haslett. One man got out of his vehicle and approached the other, which was a Dodge Durango, Haslett said.
