By Barton S. “Steve” Smith I grew up in Fort Worth, particularly near Texas Christian University. Living so close to Berkeley Place, I had always known about the area. Just down the street from my home is Forest Park Pool. I still remember going to the pool for the first time, when I was around 4 or 5 years old. That’s where I learned how to swim. I graduated from R.L. Paschal High School, one of the schools local to Berkeley Place.
