MILWAUKEE — The 2025 season has been one to forget for Pirates right-hander Colin Holderman. One of the most productive relievers on last year’s team, Holderman has been plagued by injuries since the end of spring training. Holderman’s first trip to the injured list came on April 6, when he was diagnosed with a right knee sprain. He returned to action on April 26 but didn’t stick around long.

MILWAUKEE - The Pirates will recall right-hander Michael Darrell-Hicks prior to the start of Tuesday's game against the Brewers, sources told the Post-Gazette. Right-hander Hunter Stratton was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday morning to make room for Darrell-Hicks on the active roster. Pittsburgh claimed Darrell-Hicks off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels on June 13. He has pitched in five major league games, all coming this season, allowing eight earned runs over 7 2/3 innings.

A dominant effort from the Brewers lineup paired with a solid outing from their ace Freddy Peralta resulted in an ugly 9-3 loss for the Pirates at American Family Field.
