WESTON, W.Va. (WV News) — Fresh food and homemade products will now be available in Weston on a weekly basis. The Lewis County Farmers Market opened for the season on May 23, and organizers are looking forward to another successful year. The market is going all-in this year thanks to a recent grant, said Corey Burkett, president of the market. "We're feeling great," he said. "We got a large grant this year so now our market is easier to set up and tear down.

WESTON, W.Va. (WV News) — While school may be out for the summer, kids can still participate in fun activities that will help them learn. Officials with the Lewis County Family Support Center (FSC), a program under the county’s Family Resource Network (FRN) will again be holding their Play in the Park days every Wednesday from June 4- Aug. 6 from 11 a.m.- noon at the Lewis County Park. Each day will be focused on teaching kids important life skills, said Bri Warner, program coordinator.

WESTON, W.Va. (WV News) — The Lewis County Board of Education worked through several items during a special meeting on Thursday. Board members unanimously approved a resolution authorizing the execution and delivery of a Guaranteed Energy Savings Contract with Energy Systems Group, LLC. The contract carries an aggregate price of $2,088,111 and includes related authorizations for implementation. Board member James Fealy talked about how this will benefit the school system.

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. (WV News) — During a special meeting on Thursday, Buckhannon City Council gave the third and final readings of two ordinances. Ordinance 471 amends ordinance 365, the city’s noise ordinance, to clarify that the operation of a portable generator is not exempt from the ordinance under certain circumstances. The ordinance clarifies that portable generators are not domestic power tools when commercial electric service is generally available.
