HOWARD COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Maryland State Police (MSP) said all lanes on Interstate 70 East were closed on Thursday morning following a deadly fiery crash. State police told DC News Now that the collision happened just after 4:15 a.m. on I-70 near Sand Hill Road. A preliminary investigation determined that a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck, hauling a trailer, crashed and caught on fire. The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene.

(DC News Now) — Emergency crews in Baltimore are working to clean up a spill after about 2,000 gallons of diesel fuel leaked in Harbor East. Maryland officials said the incident happened around 11 a.m. on June 4, when fuel began leaking from the Johns Hopkins Hospital’s facility in East Baltimore.

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A 25-year-old man will spend over a decade behind bars for a series of robberies near Anacostia Park two years ago. The United States Attorney’s Office (USAO) for the District of Columbia announced Wednesday that David Crocker, of Washington, D.C., was sentenced to 18 years in prison for robbing people at gunpoint. His sentence comes after he pleaded guilty to several counts of armed robbery in December 2023. He also pleaded guilty to unlawfully possessing a pistol.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — Police said two teenage boys are being held behind bars after they were accused of robbing a boy at gunpoint in Woodbridge. According to the Prince William County Police Department, minutes before 7:15 p.m. on June 2, officers were called to the Smoketown Road and Rollingwood Drive area to investigate a robbery. Once on the scene, police learned that a 14-year-old boy was walking when three teens approached him.
