WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — D.C. police are investigating a triple shooting in Southeast that took place overnight. According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), minutes before 1:15 a.m. on April 18, officers were called to a shooting in the 2000 block of 19th Place. There, police found two men and a woman who had been shot. D.C. police noted that all three victims were conscious and breathing.

Details about what led to the collision are limited; however, the United States Park Police told DC News Now that officers were called to the parkway near Route 197 for a crash involving two vehicles. Police said a minor was pronounced dead at the scene.

LAUREL, Md. (DC News Now) — Firefighters responded to put out a large fire that broke out at an apartment complex in Laurel Thursday afternoon. Details are limited; however, the Prince George’s County Fire Department (PGFD) said that just before noon, crews were dispatched to a two-alarm fire in the 900 block of Parks Avenue. As of 12:52 p.m., the Prince George’s County Fire Department said one resident was removed from the apartment building and evaluated for smoke inhalation.

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — An owner and property manager of an apartment complex in Northeast D.C. is being sued by D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb over dangerous housing conditions and compromising the health and safety of tenants.
