A road running through a new housing estate in Leighton Buzzard has been unadopted meaning the local authority is not responsible for any repairs. The road, Briggington Way, is unfinished with raised manhole covers which serve the sewers and surface water. Resident Neil Cairns, who used the road regularly, says it's a dangerous hazard, particularly for motorcyclists. Mr Cairns, of Highfield Road, Leighton Buzzard, said: "It’s an unadopted 'Private Road’ like a house driveway, not a 'Public Road’.

Bollards in Bridge Street, Leighton Buzzard, have finally been removed, but questions are being asked over the delay in taking them down. The bollards were installed in Bridge Street about five years ago, during Covid, but some have collapsed on the ground, causing a trip hazard. Several complaints have been made to Central Beds Council, which maintains the road, of accidents involving pedestrians who have tripped and fallen.

Proposed changes to Milton Keynes City Council wards, published this month by the Local Government Boundary Commission (LGBC), have largely been welcomed. The recommendations propose Milton Keynes being represented by 60 councillors, an increase of three from the current 57. As well an increase in the number of councillors, the number of wards will also rise from 19 to 21.
