The United States’ 125 per cent tariff on China could force Americans to rethink where they source their products, including from Canada. The City of Victoria is considering a rezoning application for Evergreen Terrace, which, if approved, would bring around 900 multi-storey units over a period of 10 to 20 years. Evergreen Terrace spreads across two blocks along Blanshard Street between Hillside Avenue and Bay Street. The 196-unit neighborhood contains 175 low-income units along with 21 supportive housing units. BC Housing is now looking to redevelop it, which would be the organization’s largest-ever investment in Greater Victoria.
